Walker is a strong guy but a hothead. He seems to be the leader and the one that the others go to. I do not like too many people, so would probably avoid. Walker is the main character. If he was not a character in the book, it would change because he is the main character.
ReplyDeleteKinda like Sarah she wouldn't be here and there wouldn't be a book.
DeleteI agree but I thought of him as more shy just because he didnt want to break u with his girlfriend because he didn't wanna be the one to do it. Also, if he wasn't in the story, who do you think would take over his role as main character?
DeleteMy character, Jennifer, is a strong character, too. She is also a leader, in the sense of being the star player on the basketball team.
DeleteSarah was and still is a hothead that does not care for anything at all. She knows that she's damaged on the inside and out but she's gotten to the point that she doesn't really care anymore. Although her scars have effected her, she still looks out for her friend Eric. Her father is controlling her life and making it a living hell. I can see that people really don't like her because she's so tough and she's damaged. If Sarah wasn't in this book then we wouldn't have a Staying Fat for Sarah Brynes.
ReplyDeleteWith the fact of her looking out for her friend even though her life isn't good reminds me of how nortie dosen't care what happens to him but if his mother is hit when nortie is home he would rather take it then let his mom get hit.
DeleteThe character Sarah is similar to my character, Jennifer, because they share the fact that they are both damaged individuals. Also, just as Sarah's father is controlling her life, Jennifer's stepfather is controlling hers, and also, making it a living hell.
Deletei agree that sarah would change the book because if she hasn't got burnt and had scars on her face they would have be no point of writing this book
Deleteshe is also to similiar the jens life in chinise handcuff because her father is kind of controling her by not letting her tell no one what he is doing to her.
DeleteDale Thornton is a character that is a grade school bully and dropout that really help Eric out latter on in the book. he is mighty but tiny person who has a abusive father and no mother. he like to work on cars. if Crutcher didn't put Dale in this the book a lot would change because without him Eric would have never known the truth about Sarah's burns or where Sarah's mother might have gone.
ReplyDeleteHe sounds very like a very interesting character that has a huge impact on the story.
DeletePayson Hofstetter
DeleteMy book would be different too because the main character stands up to the bully and without him nothing would of happened.
I agree if dale wasn't in the book Eric wouldn't know what happened to sarah
DeleteDale's personality is very intimidating I think. He knew the truth about Sarah which was good. I think Dale could be both a good and bad friend to have.
Deletei would have to agree with you because if dale was not there the truth about what happen to Sarah would probly never have been told and I don't know if she would have told anyone what happened
Deletedale seems to be familiar to dillion because he does not have a mother but does have father to help him out, but does not abuse him.
Deletethe book would be different if Eric Calhoune was not in it. with out him I think Sarah byrnes would have killed her self if Eric was not there for her. the role she plays in the book is the person that is helping Sarah thought the hell that she is going thought. I would be friends with Eric because she seems like a good and caring persons. the best thing she is doing is she was staying fat as long as Sarah has the scars on her face.
ReplyDeletei dont think sarah would have killed herself but she would be in a very dark place
Deletei agree that eric is the main body but i mainly agree with ethan i dont think sarah would go that far an do something that bad
DeletePayson Hofstetter
ReplyDeleteLouie is a strong, fast, and athletic person. He's a tall, young, skinny, and has a great personality. Louie is the nice guy that stands up to bullies and helps others out when needed. He acts like he's nothing but he's actually smart and relaxed when he doesn't have Boomer around him. If Louie wasn't in the book there wouldn't be any story because it revolves around him. I would be friends with Louie because he's nice, a hard worker, and stands up for his friends. Lastly, Louie's role in the book is the good guy that stands up for himself.
I agree with you he is a strong person and I agree with your thoughts.
DeleteLouie sounds like an amazing person and he would be a great friend.
Deleteyea Louie is a great friend and with all of the things going on in his life, like wow. I feel bad for him and I would try and stay away from boomer, but still go out for football.
DeleteI envision the character Louie a lot lie me. Just more as a normal kid but has determination on and off the field. He is the main character in the story so he is pivotal. I would be friends with him cause he does anything he believes is right and is not afraid to speak to the public in what he believes in. If he wasn't in the book then it would significantly change the book cause he's the main character and the story would be completely different.
ReplyDeleteLouie sounds a lot like Dillon from Chinese handcuffs because they both aren't afraid to speak there mind
DeletePayson Hofstetter
ReplyDeleteI agree that the story would be completely different and that he thinks he's a normal kid but he's more like a leader.
I believe the character Sarah Byrnes is not only an important characters but I believe she will become more important later in the book when they finally decide whether to tell how she actually got her burns. she seems to have a very screw the world attitude and she has lost faith in humanity due to the way her father has treated her over the years. she has impacted the story and all the characters in it by being friends with them she makes them see how cruel the world can be. I personally wouldn't be friends with her because she is a bit meaner of a person and she can be intimidating. If she wasn't in the book there would be no need for the book, if she wasn't there the book wouldn't have any drama of suspense.
ReplyDeleteO'Brian is kind of like that in stotan he had once brought in newspapers that were racist and didn't really give a care about the consequences, from my perspective i feel like he just wants the see the world burn.
Deletei feel like she is because if she wasn't then there wouldn't really be a main point in the book and that it would be focused on something thats not important
DeleteI agree, Sarah is a huge part of this book. She keeps the book interesting, which makes the book come together.
DeleteI also think in my book stotan that walker is very important but there is also another important person in this book nortie.
DeleteNortie is your typical big guy soft heart character, he wants to be kind but he thinks if he makes one mistake he is just as bad as his drunk father who beats nortie and his mother. Nortie was working at a child care center but he hit a little brat who was harassing other kids and calling them names. If nortie was not in the story i feel like the story would change a lot because a bunch of things revolve around him like his family life, his work life, and all the time he had spent with walker and the other guys. I feel like i could be friends with nortie because he just seems like you can get along with him as long as you're nice. Nortie is a friend of the MC Walker and a supporting character in the swimming club, The book would change like i said earlier a lot of things revolve around him and his life so taking all that out would definitely change how the story plays out.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting perspective on Nortie. I agree with most of these points and I like how you included all of the things that would change without him. The story would definitely change without him.
DeleteNortie is kind Eric because of how care for everyone and is worried about his friends. Norton's is like Sarah's father because in my he almost kills Sarah's mother by drowning her and scorching his daughter's face and hands
DeleteI feel like this is a very good way to describe nortie, personally I always thought he deserved a better life.
Deletethe character I can envision the most would probably be Boomer. He seems to be a heavier set guy made of mostly muscle, and is a pretty mean jock kind of guy. if anyone from this school was to hang out with him it would be the hicks and the other super jocks. he does have a pretty but effect on the story as he is the main threat to Louie's life and as a bully. but he has his reasons, as when he was eight because of Louie he lost out on all his gifts from a birthday party cause Louie pissed of his dad. and if he was not in the book yeah a lot of things would change. for one they would have a harder time playing football, and two Washington would not have been injured which would mean Louie would still be on the team and in school.
ReplyDeleteBoomer kind of sound like Dale due to how Dale in the beginning being a bully to Eric and Sarah and get beaten by his father
DeleteI envision Nortie as a timid but easily angered person just because of how his father treats him. He has a lot of anger towards his father and he lets it out on other people sometimes. He feels bad about when he lets out his anger and he wants to become an elementary teacher so I believe he is a very caring person. If he wasn't in the book, the story would be very different, as the characters go out of their way try to make him feel better through his struggles. Without him the story would just be less eventful.
ReplyDeleteI agree that nortie is a huge part of this book. Half of the time it talks about him. He is also bestfriends with Walker.
DeleteI thought ht same things about nortie and i think is one of the bigger parts of the book
Deletei feel bad for nortie because it seems like he wasnt brought up in the best way.
DeleteThis sounds a lot like Becky in my book Running Loose
DeleteI pick eric because i imagane him to be over weight and pretty short and weres like shorts and a t-shirts. His actions to me i feel like he never really does much and i say that because he never tries to act tough, never tries to show off to anyone he just tries to do his own thing and see sarah as much as he posible can. His behavior is pretty mellow he's on the swim team but hes in a paper group were they talk about the school. Another is that he goes and sees his best friend in the hospital. I would be friends with eric because he cares about most people. He plays a big role in being the person to find out what's going on. if eric wasn't in the book i feel like it would change a bit because we might not know what happens to sarah right away
ReplyDeletei picked eric as well and i do agree with everything you said but if sarah wasnt in this book then everything would change that is happening/happened.
DeleteThe character, Jennifer Lawless, in my mind, is tall with a strong athletic build, shoulder length, blonde hair, and a pretty face. She's ambitious, independent, and definitely a team player, with confidence, when it comes to basketball. I think Jennifer in school would be hard to get to know, because she would likely come off as aloof. For that reason, I am not sure her and I would be friends, because she might not be open to the idea. Jennifer's role in the novel is of a very talented high school basketball player who keeps the secret of being sexually abused by her stepfather. She is a compatible friend to Dillon, as they both are athletic and can be easygoing with one another. If Jennifer was not in the novel, it would change Dillon's character because he wouldn't have her in his life for support and friendship. Also, he wouldn't have the potential of a romantic interest with someone other than Preston's former girlfriend, Stacy.
ReplyDeleteYah I don't think I would be good friends with Jen. She seems like she would be very distant and she would be too focused on basketball and that's it.
Deletewhich would make the book even more different because then two characters would change and if the book didn't have Jennifer at all whos perspective would it be in how would they determine the rest of the book
DeleteMy character I choice was Moby from the book Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes. he is a taller guy build like a train. He claims to be over weight but really he is very active and is very health person. He likes to swim and writes newspaper articles for his school about him and Sarah.
ReplyDeleteMy character is Sarah. Sarah plays a huge part in the book. Sarah doesn't care about much of anything. Eric and Sarah are best friends because of both of the differences they have. They both look out for each other. I would be friends with Sarah but I understand why and how people may not want to because of her scars, but she can't help them. If Sarah wasn't in this book the book would change tremendously. Sarah seems to be the main character in the book with her going to the hospital because of her talking disability and she seems to get brought up a lot of other times throughout the book where it would be completely different without her.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with you Emma that with out Sarah the whole book would change everything that is happening right now.

ReplyDeleteI see Dillon as an above average height, big arms. I feel like the death of his brother had some invisible side effects and that comes out when he talks. I feel like I could be friends with him because he is a nice guy, and looks out for people. He is big part of the book, as he is one of the main characters along with jenny. I think the book would change if he was not in it because the death of his brother and his reaction is a small part of the book that has a lot of meaning to him
ReplyDeleteI think that without Dillion the book would be very different. Because I don't think the death of his brother is a small part I think its a huge part. It's always ends up relating the topics to Preston's death.
Deletei agree with mitchell because he is one of the main characters but i dont think that prestons death was that big of a deal
DeleteI agree without dillion the book would way different and i don't think it would be as good of a book without Dillion. I' very glad that Dillion is in the book and i like his role in the book.
Deletemy character is walker from stotan. I see walker as a tall senior from frost high school. He is the captain of the swim team, and he lives with his parents that are older than most parents. He is also the narrator of the book. He has a brother that is 15 years older than he is. He is a very loyal friend and would do anything for his team/friends. He has impacted the book by being the team captain and being there for everyone. I personally think that I would be friends with him, he seems like a nice guy that tries to do the right thing. I feel like he could also be a little angry and little things set him off. It seems to be all of the other characters go to him for help, and trust him. He plays a big role in the book and the book would be very different without him.
ReplyDeletemy character connects to yours because they are both athletic and take pride in their sports
DeleteI read the book stotan and I think this description of walker describes him very well.
DeleteMy character is Dillion. The book has not really described him much but I vision him as taller built guy with brown hair, very athletic. He's also very smart getting good grades in school but he often gets in trouble though being a trouble maker. I think if I would meet him that I'd be friends with him, even though he likes to cause trouble he still seems like a caring person. He has a major roll in the book as the book is centered around two people Dillion and Jens stories. If we didn't have Dillion in the book we would lose the connection between Dillion and Jen, Dillion is Jens closest friend too. Overall though I think Dillion is the main character because it always goes back to his viewpoint and talks about his brother suicide.
ReplyDeleteI think that fits Boomer perfectly because Boomer is A very athletic guy that that gets into trouble a lot the only thing different about them is Boomer is not the best at academics.
DeleteI agree with you Theo but I don't think that Boomer is just a trouble maker he is a straight up bully.
Deletei choose a character named Jennifer lawless I imagine her as like a tall, well built, and intelligent person i also imagine her with brown hair and someone who would worry about basketball more then she cares about her grades she seems like a person that would be good at sports and humble and the book is mainly focused on her at the point I am in and I do not think the book would have as much of a rising action leading to the climax without Jennifer's perspective it would be a whole different story and probably more confusing
ReplyDeleteYes the book definitly wouldbt be nearly as interesting without jennifer.
DeleteI think Louie is a great friend and a lot like me how he is very nice and respectful to his teammates but always gets bullied by boomer and other kids and I feel that everyday! I have a stutter and it really sucks and when I was in middle school and high school, I would get bullied by jerks about my stutter. now, Louie is one of the main characters in the book and why I chose him is because I love it on how he wants everyone to be non-racial and wants to make the world a better place. I'm Louie, I want to graduate and make this world a better place!
ReplyDeletethis person sounds like nortie off of my book
DeleteI totally agree that Louie is a charring guy and I think he would be a good friend.
Deletei see prseton as a tall skinny guy with a biker jacket and has bruises all over his body because he was basically the gangs joker. i can also see him as one of those people that just doesn't care about life. i probably wouldn't be friends with him because he is in a biker gang and he did hard drugs. He isn't really that big of a part in the book because he isnt in the book that much.
ReplyDeleteI actually think that Preston is very important to the book because i don't think it is the same if Dillion doesn't have to deal with Preston killing himself. So i disagree without Preston the book is totally different and it wouldn't be as good.
DeleteI agree with how he looks, however, he is a fairly significant character. The loss of Preston is what really directs Dillon's part of the story.
Deletei agree, and i wouldnt be friends with him either because of how he acts and the decisions he makes.
DeleteThe chacter I chose was Carter and I am reading Running Loose. I chose Carter because he seems like a guy that will always have your back and joke around with you. I also like that he went through a hard part in his life when his dad went to find work to support the family. Hs dad ended up making a new family and he never talked to his dad since. This shows that even this event was not able to get to him and he is very strong for that. If he was at our school today I would say we would be decent friends.
ReplyDeletei agree about carter always having your back
Deleteemerson lux morales
ReplyDeletethe main charatcer is dillion i envision him being strong and tall and not that fat since it is said he is very athelic. he is always behaving like if he doesn't care but he actually care it is just that he is going through his brothers death. he a big impact on the book because the book is told from his point of view. he is making a raising action by tell things that are going through and setting scene. i would be friends of hims because is not a bad guy he is just because of his brother death and because of this he is making bad choices. i think that he is the main character because the letter are told from his pooint of view and he is always the one talking in the book.
I 100% agree! Dillon's story defiantly has a hug impact on the story itself. And I too picture Dillon to have a very fit body complex.
DeleteI also see dillion as strong and fit and tall, he also dose act like he docent care but I think he actually dose but this is his way to deal with his brothers death.
DeleteI agreed with the fact that he acts like he doesnt care but he really does because hes built this wall around himself after he lost his brother in order to cope
DeleteI chose nortie from my book stotan . I imagine nortie as being very tall and shinny but very ripped and I also think he would always have his head down and be shy.I think nortie is very mellow and very nice he is also avery hard worker since he works with little kids and swims.
ReplyDeleteI agree that is how I envision Nortie as well, I see him to be a scrawny kid but has a little meat on his bones. I also think Nortie would be the type of kid to keep to himself most of the time but if it is needed, he would speak up.
DeleteI would agree with your description of Nortie. I also picture him as a very submissive person giving in to a lot of things. but I also picture him as athletic and very kind.
DeleteI agree, I think Nortie is shy, but I also think he can be a hot head. With the daycare incident (although, I know he freaked out and knew he messed up after he did it) I think he has a lot of anger built up in him from his dad abusing him; therefore, I feel like their is a devil/evil side to him.
DeleteMy character is Dillion. I image Dillion looking very athletic and strong, and pretty tall, with brown hair, and he is very good in school, but he causes trouble sometimes. Dillion is a guy that I think I could be friends with just he just seems like a guy that I would get along with. Dillion is a big part because he is the main character along with Jen.
ReplyDeletei agree with logan because i can see him as a tall athletic kid with brown hair. i think i could be friends with him too and he is a big part of the book
DeleteI agree without Dillion I do not think this could be a story Dillion starts the book and its an important part because we learn about his brother.
DeleteI to see dillion as tall athletic and strong, I think without dillion the stat of the book would of been much different.
DeleteI agree with what dillion looks like, and he definitly is the most important character I the story.
Deletemy character is louie. louie is a senior in highschool on the football team. i picture him as just your average sporty guy. he is a main character in this book and and if it wasnt for him this whole book would be about something besides football. another boy in this book is boomer and he is known as the bully to louie. i would be friends with louie but not boomer. slowly boomer is learning that louie isnt that bad and he is learning to just be nice.
ReplyDeleteI think that Boomer is start to like Louie and I think by the end of the book they are going to be good friends.
DeleteI agree the book definitely wouldn’t be the same without him. I think they will get along too by the end of the book, boomer will want to be friends with him I think.
DeleteI am reading running loose where Louie is the main character and in all honesty I envision him a lot like me. He's a quite kind of kid who if pushed to it will speak up against others. He has few friends who are kind of like family to him, with that being said I would try to be friends with him because we are so alike.
ReplyDeleteI am also reading running loose and I also envision him looking kind of like me. I agree he seems like a cool kid to be around and would be a good friend.
DeleteYeah I agree he definitely tries to do things when he is determined to prove it or do something about it. I think he would be a good friend also.
DeleteDillon seems to be the kind of person who really looks after those he is close to, especially after losing his brother. I see him as a tall, skinny guy. He has good intentions, but gets caught up in the wrong group or wrong place at the wrong time and gets in trouble.
ReplyDeleteI said tall and skinny also because he is training for an ironman long legs for long strides and he has to be losing a ton of weight.
DeleteDillon training for a triathlon would make sense to be a tall and skinny guy but I just feel that he has a bigger build and average height. I feel this way because Dillon is two years younger than Preston but Dillon was bigger and he said people thought they were twins.
DeleteI agree that Dillon is tall and skinny but i think he has strength because he would need it to et through the triathlons. he would also be the person there for you especially after loosing his brother
DeleteI am reading running loose and the main character is Louie. I picture him to be a normal sporty kid. If he wasn't in this book there would be no book because the story is based off of him. I would be friends with Louie because he seems like a cool kid and fun to be around. His bestfriend is carter who is a stronger kid that protects him. I would also be friends with carter because he seems like a fun kid to hang around.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that he is a sporty kind of person that would go out for every sport that he can. I think that Louie would be fun to be around.
DeleteI also agree with you in the sense of being friends with Louie. He is a strong, caring, and whole-hearted person and wishes nothing but the best for all of us. I would also be friends with both him and Carter.
DeleteI'm reading running loose and the character I'm doing is Louie and he is a good football player and college's are trying to recruit him to go to there school. If Louie was not in the book I don't think there would be a book because the book is about him. I think I would like to be friend with him because he sounds like he would be fun to be around.
ReplyDeleteI am also reading running loose and I agree I would also be friends with Louie. I also agree if Louie wasn't in the book there would be no book because he is the main part of the story.
Deleteim also reading running loose and i also agree with Jordan if Louie was not in the book there would not be a book but i dont know if i would be friends with him but that depends on a lot of things.
DeleteDillion is the character I am going to choose. I envision Dillion tall and skinny and I think he would be the type of guy that just keeps to himself with the events that have happened in is life. Dylan is one of the main characters of the book he is anywhere and everywhere in the book people think he was around when his brother shot himself he also starts the book off he's writing letters to his dead brother. I don't think I can see myself being friends with dillion Its just the fact that I see him keeping to himself and not wanting to do anything. Dillion is the main he starts off the book with letters and with his brother killing a cat if he was not in the book I don't think it would be a book you need his point of view on what happened.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that Dillon does keep to himself more but I feel if you did become friends with him he would always have your back and be there for you no matter what. I disagree on his build though because the book said he was bigger than his brother though he was two years younger and he is very athletic.
DeleteI envision Dillon as an average height man with a wider athletic build but doesn't use his athleticism for school sports but to challenge himself by participating in triathlons. I feel Dillon is a good student academically, he said in the book he has never had a grade below a B. His attitude towards the principle Mr. Caldwell could be better but it doesn't help the way Mr. Caldwell treats Dillon. If a student chooses not to use their athletic abilities at school that is up to them not the principle. Obviously Dillon has had a big impact on the book because he is the main character but I feel I would try to be friends with Dillon because he is actually a really nice guy and very respectful to those who respect him. If Dillon was not in the book I think it would take a different approach and be more in Jennifer's perspective more than it already is.
ReplyDeleteI see Jennifer as a tall with a strong athletic build. she's independent with a lot of confidence, when it comes to anything about basketball. she is a team leader. i feel me and Jennifer could be friends we both are hard working in the sports we play. Jennifer's role in the book is a very talented high school basketball player who was sexually abused by her stepdad and is keeping it a secret. the book would be all together different no Jennifer means Dillon dose not have that person the to keep him going and dose no have that close friend.
ReplyDeleteI also see many characters in my book to have athletic builds such as Carter and Louie. They have said in the book that they spent all summer working out for the football season. I also feel that Carter and Louie are both team leaders
DeleteIn my book Stotan, Walker is also a team leader who helps his peers out whenver they need it. He is also is a hard worker when it comes to swimming because he has to get up and go to practice at 5 in the morning before school.
DeleteCole Voss
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book Running Loose. The character I have chosen is Boomer. Boomer has a very important role within the plot. If it weren't for Boomer there wouldn't have been all the side conflicts that make the book so interesting. Boomer is kind of an asshole though. If Boomer was an actual person I personally would choose not to be friends with him but I would also do my best to stay out of his way and try not to get on his bad side.
In my book, Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes has someone like Boomer named Dale, they seem very alike.
DeleteBoomer is definitely like a bully to Louie. I wonder if there is reason as to why he acts that way.
DeleteIn the book Chinese Handcuffs the character Couch Sherman hasn't been a huge part of the book, but I feel like she's going to have more of an impact on jens life and in helping Dillon. I picture her as a tall women with wide hips. I picture her with a kind face and bright eyes. I think she would be a person I could come and talk to when needed. she is always there for her students and sticks up for them. I would be friends with her because she seems really genuine, and helpful
ReplyDeleteSarah is very big part of the book, I feel like there wouldn't be much of a book if she wasn't written in. She has a very "screw you" personality, and seems very independent. It has been made very clear that she doesn't need anyone to help her and that she can go through life on her own. With everything that happened with her father, it makes her believe even more that she really doesn't need anyone in her life. I would friends with her because she seems like someone that you would never have a dull moment with.
ReplyDeletei do agree that sarah is a very big part of the book. i think if she wasnt the big part of the book it would not be that good.
DeleteI agree that Sarah is a big part of the book, but I also think that her father Virgil is too because he is the reason she is the way she is.
DeleteThe character, Louie Banks, is a kind, athletic person and life hasn’t been treating him so good lately, but with his friends and family he should be able to get through it. Louie is the main character and keeps the book going, so the book wouldn’t be the same without him in it. I would probably be friends with him just because of how kind he is and reading how he treats his friends and just people in general.
ReplyDeleteIn the book Stotan, Walker is a kind, supportive, and he also puts everyone else needs before his own. Walker is the average senior in high school, with a selfless attitude and determination. He has supported his friend Nortie through one of his darkest times when he had hit a child at the daycare. Without hesitation Walker let Nortie vent and explain what happened and went to the daycare to try and fix the situation. I think I would 100% be friends with Walker as we have similar personalitys, we help others out no matter the time of day, and we both try to stay positive all of the time. Walker plays an important role in the book as he is the "rock" for the friend group, hes the one everyone can go to and get along with without troubles. After saying that, if Walker was not in the book I think there woould be basically an empty space in the friend group because they are so close to one another. For example, if Walker was not in the book there would be no one in his family holding everything together because his brother has made bad life choices that have caused troubles in the family which also caused his parents to not care about his brother anymore. So if it wasnt for Walker, the family would crumble apart and Long John wouldnt even be in the picture.
ReplyDeleteIn my book, Louie is the same way. He is very kind to others and gets along well with almost everyone.
DeleteI agree, I would also be friends with Walker. He seems like a go-to person for personal problems. He also is supportive of other people and goes with the flow of what he is told, which is similar to what I do.
DeleteThe character that I choose is Louie. I envision him as someone who gets along well with others and will go out of his way to do anything for them, therefore I would be friends with him. He is very athletic, so I imagine him as a guy who is built, especially since he plays football. Due to him being the main character, I would say that without him, there would be no story.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to this a lot the character I chose to right about has many similar traits to louse because my character is also very kind, athletic, and the main character.
Deletei agree louie pretty much tells the story from his point of view.
Deletethe character that i choose is eric because he is a big impact in the story hes one of sarahs bestfriend for along time. honestly i believe if it wasnt for eric then sarah would have probably committed suicide. i imagine him to be over weight and not at all tall. he is a caring guy.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree that Eric is a big part in Sarah's life and one of her bestfriends
DeleteI agree, if Eric didn't stay fat for Sarah Byrnes, she probably would no longer be here.
DeleteThe character I chose to do is Booker. Booker is a Bully to Louis. I am not quite sure on what I think this character would look like. The only impact this character has is being mean to others. I would not be friends with this character because I don't deal with people who pick on me. I think the book might change a little if this character was not in it only because , then no one would get picked on and feelings would not be hurt.
ReplyDeleteThe character I chose is walker. I envision him as the leader of his friend group and the glue that keeps them all together. He is very very athletic because he is a swimmer. I would also say he is compassionate and understanding because he looks out for Nortie when he gets into trouble. The book would be very different without him because he is the main character and would change the whole dynamic of the book.
ReplyDeletethe character i chose is louie banks hes a senior in high school. i picture him as a tall skinny kid and acts pretty humble but he knows hes still in the best shape of his life from working out with carter all summer. he tells the story from his prespective for the most part. i could get along with louie because he seems humble and we both played football.
ReplyDeleteThe character Dillion, is in high school. He is a decently big kid, and very athletic. He is in really good shape. Sometimes he acts out of impulse when he is upset, but he is great friend and always there for all his friends when they need him. I feel I would be good friends with dillion and my book wouldn't really be a good book without dillion as he is the main character.
ReplyDeleteI choose the character preston from Chinese handcuffs. Preston was involved in a biker gang called the warlocks, the warlocks are involved with prestons suicide. Prestons suicide heavily influences how dillion acts through out the book, by taking the fight to the warlocks. It is interesting how diliion can carry on his brothers wishs after his death.
ReplyDeleteI agreed that its interesting how hes still trying to do right by his brother even after his death
DeleteI chose the character from Chinese handcuffs. Dillon was not a very involved kid in school. He was a very athletic kid but he wanted to make a name for himself and his family name more then his school. So he did triathlons rather then school sports. He is very impalsive though never backing down from an altercationa nd always trying to help his friends
ReplyDeletei would have to agree with the main character in my book moby from the book Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes he is very similar to this character
DeleteThe character I am choosing is Virgil Byrnes. I envision him the have whiskers on his face with gray hair, old jeans with a distressed t-shirt, and smell heavily of alcohol. Technically, he is the reason that this book happened. He burned Sarah and continued to abuse her. If he didn’t do any of that, this book pretty much would not exist. I would probably avoid him because he just seems like a dirty old man who is really mean, and doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Virgil is Sarah’s dad, and if he wasn’t in the book, it wouldn’t be here like I said already.
ReplyDeletenorty is a very strong person who is trying his hardest no to become his father but its hard to do when that was how u where raised and what u where taught
ReplyDeleteNortie from stotan seems like a very nice guy and I feel like its good there is a character in the book like him that shows all of his at home problems with his family because there are a lot of people that could maybe relate to him while reading this book, Norties' father is an abusive alcoholic and does not approve of him dating a girl that is black, he obviously does not have a good relationship with his father he works at an after school daycare, I personally felt bad for him i thought he deserved a better life.

ReplyDeleteIn the book Stotan!, Nortie seems to be a calm and curious teenager boy. He was very curious on finding what "Stotan Week" was. He was getting teased about that, and when I envision someone getting teased I think of someone who wears a striped shirt with jeans and glasses. With Nortie, I also envision him having a couple of bruises and scars from his father abusing him. Nortie has stayed pretty humble, but I think he has a lot of anger built up from his dad abusing him and he has taken that out a couple of times; therefore, he has an anger side to him. Nortie has had a huge impact to the story. He is one of the four main characters. He is a swimmer, and if we didn't have him in the story it would be very boring. Nortie makes the story interesting by sharing his personal stories to his friends how the abuse from his dad has changed his life, such as loosing his brother. He also makes the story interesting by having girlfriend problems. I would be friends with Nortie, because I feel like he is the most dysfunctional one in that friend group and he seems like he would be fun to be around. Most of the story has obviously been talking about swimming but the other half so far has been talking mostly about Nortie's life and his daycare incident and their future plans. If Nortie wasn't in the story I feel like there would be no theme in the story and there wouldn't be much of a story besides talking about swimming.
