  1. My book I chose is Be Not Far From Me By Mindy McGinnis. I chose this book because it is a suspenseful book and I like that genre of books. My process of finding this book: I went to the library, picked up this book, read a few pages of it, and by just reading a few pages I knew this book was the one! So far I really like it! It starts out with Ashley who is a junior in high school who is going to a party in a large forest/timber with some friends because summer break has just begun. Her boyfriend and his ex girlfriend are at this party and that's where it all begins.

  2. The book I chose is Stalling For Time By Gary Noesner. The reason why i chose this book was because I had this random fascination of the Waco siege lately. So far it began with a hostage situation and Gary having to come in and help with the problem and then leading up to how and why he chose his career. Which I thought was very cool to learn how he goes from being a substitute teacher to a FBI agent. The one thing I don't like so far is the long chapters and as of right now I'm still on chapter 2 that I started yesterday.

    4. the jump from substitute teacher and an FBI agent is really big I think it would be nice to see how he does it. I don't think I could read this book with the really long chapters though I would get bored.

    5. My book is similar to yours in the way the main character is transformed. For instance, you mentioned your character goes from a substitute teacher to an FBI agent. My character goes from being a servant for a rich, middle-aged woman to being a married, wealthy woman in charge of a British estate. I, also, understand what you mean about the long chapters and having a lot of words on a page.

  5. my book is called V for vendetta, and the book is about a killer on the loose that is in a world where people are kept away from society and never know what its like to be free really. everyone thinks that the killer on the loose is bad, but really he is doing a good thing. I chose this book because I love action and intense books, and this book is a graphic novel book and so the words are very small to read, but very realistic. so, i really love the book so far, (there are a lot of deaths though,) but it begins with a broadcast (this takes place in London btw) over the town by a local news room, telling everyone what time it is, the weather, the time when it'll rain all that stuff; but what is really weird is that they have security cams everywhere and it almost seems like they are the actual bad guys.

    1. In a sense my book is similar to yours because people in the other world only believe in one religion and anything that goes against that is a bad thing, like the main character doesn’t want to help, he just wants to get back to earth, so the church decides he is a heretic.

  6. I chose the book Michael Vey the prisoner of cell 25. I chose this book because this was one of my favorite books to read in 8th grade and every time, I finished one of these books I would have to wait another year for the next one but now since the whole book series is out, I want to start over and read from the beginning to the end without having to wait. One the reasons why I chose this was every time think about reading this book, I always remember the time I first time I picked this book up. I was in the library and a kid said that he didn’t want to find where on the shelf to put it back, so he just gave to me and I just started to read it. When I first got this book, I thought it would be boring like all the other books I have read but after reading a few pages it got me hooked and I am still hooked to this day. It starts with a boy just like you or me, but he has a secret that would scare anyone if they found out.

  17. I am reading The United States in the Vietnam War by Don Lawson. I went to the library looking for an book really and i came across this one so i looked at it and it seemed like a decent book to read and learn about. It is more of a history lesson kind of in the fact of teaching people just how the US got involved in the Vietnam war and what we were involved with before we actually got involved. For example we funded the French in Indochina before the Communists took over.

  19. I chose the book Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, because it appealed to me as a classic romantic suspense novel, which took place around the 1930s. I chose this book randomly, as I browsed books in a bookstore. The novel piqued my interest when I learned that Rebecca haunts Manderley and her husband's new bride. The narrator in the novel is a nameless woman who begins her story in the present and after a couple chapters begins to reflect on her time at Manderley, where she is the new bride of Maxim de Winter. Maxim's former wife, Rebecca, passed away approximately a year prior. The nameless woman loves the beauty of Manderley, which is a wealthy British estate. Her only problem seems to be her relationship with Mrs. Danvers, who is the housekeeper and whom was very fond of the late Rebecca. I am hooked on the novel and look forward to understanding why Mrs. Danvers seems so hostile.
