Blog Response #12

When an author writes a book, he or she has a purpose as to why he/she is sharing this story.  This lesson or theme plays out throughout the book.  Share what you believe the author's purpose was for writing this book.  What lesson do you feel he/she wanted you to learn.  (In response to other's blog posts, try to connect your theme with those of other books.

  1. The lesson for my book is, Never give up. I think that's what it is at least, the reason I think like this is because no matter who the enemy is or what type of challenge he is facing he never backs down. That is why I think that Never back down is what they are trying to convay.

  3. The lesson in my book is never give up. I think this because the man and the boy could've given up and died but they kept on moving and they never gave up even when things got rough. I think the lesson they wanted to teach the reader is to never give up even when things aren't looking too good

    2. The narrator in my novel goes through rough times as well. She learns to find her voice and overcome her shyness in dealing with the staff as the new wife of the wealthy Maxim de Winter. The staff continues to follow the same routine as the former Mrs. de Winter, and she feels they do not take her seriously.

  6. The authors purpose of my book is survival. Ashley had to survive outdoors for 12 days. She came up with some pretty amazing ways on how to survive and had also succeeded. She found unique places to sleep, things to eat, and water to drink that I could have never done!

  7. The author's purpose in writing the novel, Rebecca, is that it is not wise to begin a new love interest/relationship unless you have completely gotten over your former relationship. Also, really know the person you marry, because you don't want to have a loveless, faithless marriage where you are truly miserable. Because of these two main purposes, the second Mrs. de Winter remains nameless in the novel as she lacks importance in her relationship with her husband. His former wife, Rebecca, is the dominant person in this novel. Even though she is dead, Rebecca seems to keep the new husband and wife from nurturing their relationship as, the husband, Maxim, cannot control his feelings of guilt in killing Rebecca.

  8. The main theme of the novel Michael Vey: Prisoner of cell 25 would have to be courage and be loyal to friends Michael Vey must find the courage to rescue his mother knowing that he is going to have to make tough decisions along the way. Throughout the book Michael resists the punishments from Doctor Hatch that almost kills him to stay loyal to his friends to the end.

  9. i think that the lesson that the author is trying to teach is that no matter what you do you must always take reposability. througout the book he knows what he is doing and knows what the outcome would be of robbing a bank. therefor he knows that if he shoots somebody he would go to jail for a long time and therefor he never shoots nobody, but no matter what he does he must go to jail for robbing a bank. so at the trail he confeses everything and tell that he takes the resposability but also says he never shot nobody. which he ask the judge to consider that.

  10. I think the authors purpose is that being at different hostage situations is very scary and is very stressful. Throughout the book he explains on what is happening and what he thinks of what his coworkers think. I noticed that he shares somewhat of no emotion in the small situations but as the big situations he expresses them.

The purpose of the book I read was to show and talk about inequality that is happening everywhere. The author wants to show how bad cops or people harass minorities. The lesson I have learned was that stand up for what you believe in because throughout the book Justyce stood up for the black community even when some of the black community didn't stand up for him.

  15. In the book The Cabin I think the main purpose is not to blindly trust everyone. In the book a group of friends spend the weekend in a cabin and two people get murdered, the police say no one broke in either. So it had to be one of them in the group, but the main character trusts everyone too much that she doesn't believe any of them did it. Eventually she starts to learn as everyone falls apart she really doesn't know her friends truly, everyone was keeping huge secrets from her and then in the end the killer was one of her friends.

  17. In the book I survived the California wildfires i think the main purpose is to never give up because he doesn’t give up and finally made it out of the fire. 18. I think if the author of The Voyage of the Frog was trying to convey a message, it would be to never give up. David goes through so many hardships while stranded at sea. he could have just gave up and died out on the water, hundreds of miles from land, but he didn't. He kept going through his physical and emotional pain and it all paid off in the end when he was given food by a larger ship and sailed home.

I feel like the authors purpose in my book was to show the readers that no matter what someone has there back in a small community in a small community everyone knows everyone and they help each other out. 25. My book Never Quit there is a broad lesson that is obviously to never quit, I believe this is the lesson because the main character jimmy hits a real low after he finds out about his heart condition and nearly kills his running career and being a shoe salesman had little to no pride and he fell into a depression and got out of it after finding hope in becoming a Pararescue Jumper, along with that he talks about how much he wanted to quit throughout his training 'pipeline' but he never did and lastly because the book is named after that phrase never quit, I think that the author wanted to get the point across that no matter how hard life gets and how deep of a hole you've dug there is always a way out and you can only reach so low.
